PAEONIA

My favourite flower is the Peony, and this piece was completed to portray both the beauty
and history of this magnificent flower. The piece is completed using gouache and sakura tempera
gold, and has a combination of broad and pointed pen italic and roman letters. The pointed pen work
covers text in both english and latin to create more interesting texture. The peony is hand painted in a more
interpretive style in keeping with a more contemporary design for the piece.
